Red oxide flooring is the practice of using colored cement for flooring is commonly referred to as red oxide flooring. It has traditionally been used in almost all parts of India. It started to disappear with the advent of materials such as marble, mosaic, ceramic tiles, etc. but is slowly making its way back into the mainstream. The quality of oxide flooring depends very much on the craftsmanship. The process is quite laborious and requires a lot of attention. cost. The base is a cement floor. The oxide is mixed with grey or white cement or a combination thereof, based on the color required. Water is then added to this dry mixture to create cement slurry. This slurry is slowly applied on the cement floor (before the floor dries). The entire extent of the flooring is done in one go. As the slurry solidifies, it is smoothened over by rubbing smooth stones in circular motion. After the floor sets, it is cured for several days. It is then allowed to dry completely. Once it dries completely, it is sanded to create a smooth surface to which wax is then applied. A small amount of the same mixture (oxide without the cement) is added to the wax to smoothen over any unevenness in color. The waxed floor is allowed to dry completely. The floor is then rubbed with coconut husk to leave the floor shining. cost.
